Small close houses watch the Lake lazily lay in the Woods, while the Sun surrounds them in his warm veil.
This is a description of Pigra, a small village in Val d'Intelvi, located at 900 mt. on the Lake of Como.. Choosing to stay in our B & B you will know a really valuable territory with fantastic landscapes and the possibility to interest about wildlife, botanic, archaeological, historical and artistic places, playing sports as bike, trekking, swimming.....
Our house is furnished with care and is located on two floors, one of which is entirely reserved for guests with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a small area for reading and a balcony where in summer you can have breakfast; the third bedroom with twin beds is situated on the second floor.
The kitchen and the living room are on the ground floor and they consist of one large room with fireplace where you can see the Lake through the " window on the Lake" that inspired the name of our bed & breakfast.
We serve two types of breakfast:
-traditional: milk, coffee, tea, herbal tea, bread, jam, biscuits, cakes, cereals, yogurt, cheeses, toasts, fruit juice and fruits;
-bio: only on request and with a small extra charge, all foods and drinks can be purchased in the mountain pastures and at the "Shepherd of Alpe di Sala".
Excursions, trekking, astronomy, art. ....
• trekking, bike:
walks and surprising landscapes will accompain you visiting the Alpe di Sala, Alpe di Colonno, Rifugio Venini, Alpe di Ponna, Baita of Orimento, Sasso Gordona ...
• history, archaeology, prehistory:
You can visit the trenches and fortifications of "Cadorna line", can be found fossils, selce, several different kinds of rocks and granite; with the assistance of speleologists you can book a guided tour of the "prehistoric cave of the bear";
• Astronomy:
On Monte Galbiga there is an astronomical observatory ( the property is: Group Asrofili Lariani ); they offer, in predetermined evenings, the possibility to observe the sky, providing scientific informations and curiosity;
• art:
small Sanctuaries, Churches, wait for tourists with artworks that will surprise you.

How to reach us
You can reach us from Como, by car, direction MENAGGIO. Arriving to Argegno follow directions to San Fedele Intelvi, and in the square destined to parking, you must turn right and then right again following the signposted for Pigra. A paved road, through the Woods will lead you to the beginning of the village where you will find the directions to reach us.
From July 2011 the cable car will begin to connect Pigra to the Lake in only four minutes; in this way coming from Como, the car is not necessary to reach us and you can use the boat and then the cable car!!!
